2020 has been challenging and I am seeing a lot of moms (myself included) who are understandably overwhelmed and tired.
We all have found ourselves in situations we didn’t expect. Last year I would have never expected that I would have my children doing full distance learning this upcoming school year. I know we are all navigating what school will look like this year, and I know so many of us are questioning–how will we do it? I already feel like I am done–overcooked and now to add teaching my children from home makes me want to run away.
But my friends, we must keep Christ in the front of our minds. Let’s not let Him slip to the end of our to-do lists, because He is the only one that can keep us going. He is the only one who can provide us with the wisdom we need, and the strength to get through whatever we have to do this year.
Here are some scriptures that I am clinging to, because I know His Word has the power to breathe new life into us. So friend, take these scriptures and meditate on them. When your mind tells you you can’t keep going, STOP that lie and combat it with the truth!
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me {Phil 4:13}
Cling and keep clinging to Him sweet friend, He will get us through.
I can do what Christ has called me to do–whether that is homeschooling, distance learning, sending my children to school or working and teaching my children–I can do it ALL through Him.
“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” {Luke 10:41-42}
I pray we can remember that in the midst of being called to do many things, that the most important thing will always be sitting at the feet of Jesus. Do not let other things get in the way–go to Him first.
Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you. {1 Peter 5:7}
Friend, cast ALL of your anxiety on Him–not some of it. Bring each and every fear and worry that this year is bringing up. Bring it all! And lay it at His feet, and KNOW that He cares. He cares about how you are struggling, He sees that you are having a hard day or hard week. He wants you to bring it all to Him and find your rest there.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. {Romans 8:28}
Let’s not forget He is always working. He is always turning ashes into a thing of beauty and He is doing that right now in our own lives. He is taking every piece of your story and using it for the good. Trust that good WILL come out of this hardship.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight {Proverbs 3:5-6}
Trust in Him. Trust in His plan for your family. Pray for guidance in all that you do and He will lead you the way you need to go. He has you covered sweet friend, lean on Him today.
I pray that His peace falls upon you and your family in whatever decision you made for this school year, and that He would renew your strength and use this time to draw you in closer–to be completely dependent on Him. He loves to have you relying on Him so deeply. He can handle it all–every single ounce of pressure you are under. You WILL make it through.
