I am always amazed when God shows up in ordinary day to day activities like He did today for me. I was cleaning my grill today and I was reminded of how God is changing me. I have to admit my grill was quite dirty, I let it go way too long in between a cleaning. Layers of baked on crud were built up all over the racks, it was not a pretty picture. I had to roll up my sleeves and get to work scrubbing these racks. I had to break out the abrasive sponges and really chip away at all of the junk that was underneath. Once I let them soak and used a lot of man power I finally started to see the shiny silver underneath coming through. I was reminded of my own heart. How God is chipping away at all of the junk and the whole time He knows that the bright silver is underneath it all. He works so hard on us to change us from something that was so dirty and turns us into something gleaming and clean. Sometimes He has to use an abrasive measure to chip the gunk away and it does not feel great, but the more I soak in His presence the easier the blackened parts will wash away. I love how God is always looking for ways to speak to us in every day moments and I was reminded of His love and His goodness and how cleaning a grill can become a holy moment.
Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the LORD. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.
Isaiah 1:18
Our sins are washed away and we are made clean because Christ gave His own body as a gift to God. He did this once for all time.
