I cannot go one day without stopping and admiring the beautiful daffodils in my yard. They tell me a story of hope, transformation and things to come. Since they came in bloom this spring, I have not been able to keep my eyes off them, I have to pause and look every time I go by. Seeing their beauty has been a constant reminder of the hope I have in Him. The reminder that where there once was death there now is life, beautiful life. I remember not too long ago looking in that same spot and just seeing dead grass from the winter, I could not imagine the beauty that was to come.
These flowers also give me a visual reminder of all that is happening in my heart. On the outside to some people it may not look like much is happening under the surface but I know that there is a lot of work going on under the soil, under His care. Roots are growing stronger, I am being strengthened and watered by His word and promises, I am breaking through rough terrain and rocky areas and I am pressing on and pushing up to the sunshine that I know is above. There is so much hard wonderful work happening. Soon enough I know that my little spring flower will sprout up and be in bloom. My beautiful colors will be on display, I will be swaying freely in the breeze, the glorious sun shining upon me, I will be fragrant , full of life and a reflection of His handiwork. The dead will be gone and new life will appear, and I praise God for taking the time to care for this little flower. I know I will bloom, when my season comes and until then I will keep trusting Him to guide me upwards towards the sun.
I am so thankful that each year I will I have the wonderful reminder of how I am changing into a new creation in Christ. Because of Him what was dead will be alive. Because of Him I will be made new. At first when I saw those flowers I only saw Him but He has shown me that those flowers are both Him and I. They show the work He is doing in me and how He is shaping me to look more like Himself. I daydream of planting fields of daffodils in my yard so I remember this journey I am on and how something so simple as a flower could make me love Him so much more. And When anyone asks why I love daffodils so much I could tell them all about this beautiful season God has brought me through.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

This is such a beautiful reminder that just as the flowers we see bloom in their season, we too will bloom in ours. It’s amazing how we can find God in everything if we allow ourselves to be open to do so. Great post.

Daffodils are so uplifting. I love the seasons and you are so right what we cannot see beneath the surface, does not mean the flowers won’t bloom at the right time. And so it is with our own seasons God uses everything to help us grow, then prune back so we can bloom and blossom. Thanks for your post!
