I saw a video the other day of a beautiful african american woman speaking to her son about what has been happening in the world. She explained it to him with so much strength and gentleness at the same time, and it hurt my heart so badly.
My heart breaks that mothers have to have these conversations with their kids.My heart breaks because this world steals innocence from these precious children, because they must know the evil that is happening around them.
My heart breaks that there is such hatred in the world…but I am also thankful to know that LOVE wins.
My words fall flat but I wrote this poem…
I will hold that crying mom’s hand in my own.
Our voices banning together over the brokenness.
I will be a voice crying out with tears of righteous anger.
Our voices will cry out as one– storming the gates of heaven to the One in control.
When I can’t find the words, I will let my heart and spirit speak…I will let God’s love for all, come forth.
We will come together and cry out together –come, Lord Jesus, come. How badly we need you– and our voices will rise above it all.
I see you, sister.I hear you, sister.I am for you, sweet beautiful sister.
